Step into the pace of nature, slow down, breathe more slowly, take a walk, look more closely at the beautiful environment and then Paint Nature’s Table Still Life of the botanicals, flora or fauna in Watercolours supported by Becky, local Artist and Teacher. Beginners onwards very welcome!
We will be based in the Nature Hub at Sutton Bank for some of the time, learning tips and techniques and then being inspired by the surroundings, creating your own paintings inspired by the area around Sutton Bank.
You can choose to paint ‘En plein air’ outside where weather permits on a board amongst nature or indoors at the Nature hub.
All materials, refreshments, teaching, some 1-1 support is included in the price.

You can extend your day to 3PM should you like to continue relaxing and creating and even try using Acrylics, Pastels or Graphite pencils for the 10-3 Experience-Please see day booking! Here Lunch can also be pre-ordered for you from the cafe or you can bring your own lunch!

Description

Step Into the Pace of Of Nature! Come and join this fabulous Painting Experience from The Nature Hub at Sutton Bank Centre! On Thursday 8th October 2026 10-1.  Using the beautiful surroundings as our inspiration! Or Extend your day to the full day and explore using Pastels, Acrylics or pencils to explore and capture Nature’s wonderful colours  afterwards until 3PM!

Places are limited to 10 people.

Spend a wonderful day 10-1PM relaxing into and whilst learning some skills and tips inspired by the Botanicals and flora and fauna in the area, literally on our doorstep of the North York Moors,  We will be based in the Nature hub learning space where Rebecca Jayne Artist and Qualified Teacher  and local professional Artist will share tips and techniques, through demonstration and 1-1 support over the day!

There will be a focus on being mindful, observing and being out in nature to collect inspiration, looking carefully at the beauty of the colours and stunning views right on the doorstep and short walks around including the finest view in England! Being around and immersed in nature will be valued over the day!

You will have a choice of then focusing and painting ‘en plein air’ outside or in the hub where you can explore and paint/ create Still life Art! The sounds of birds and peace and quiet will help you to find focus and clear your mind whilst painting with plenty of on hand support from Becky to help you paint and who employs a holistic approach.

All materials are provided including Aprons, Watercolour, Paper, boards and watercolours so you can just book and enjoy!

A wonderful experience with lots of support and encouragement as well as knowledge to help you understand and enjoy the creative process in creating your very own oil painting/s on canvas whilst immersed in nature!

Refreshments are provided throughout the day!

Please note that there is level access into the hub and cars can be parked outside the event space. Parking will incur an additional cost on the day. You can instead purchase a years parking permit on the day for £33.

Toilets are a 5 minute walk from the Nature hub in the Visitor centre. Be prepared with outdoor shoes and some uneven ground out out and around the centre should you enjoy being outside whilst walking. A camera phone will be useful also to capture some further photos for inspiration.
