Step into the pace of nature, slow down, breathe more slowly, take a walk, look more closely at the beautiful environment at the viewing platforms onto the Feeding stations and then feel inspired to create a Pastel Painting of the local Visiting Birds  supported by Becky, local Artist and Teacher. Beginners onwards very welcome!
We will be based in and around the Nature Hub at Sutton Bank

All materials, refreshments, teaching, some 1-1 support is included in the price.
Lunch can be pre-ordered prior to the event to eat in the cafe or you can bring your own lunch.

Description

Step Into the Pace of Of Nature! Come and join this fabulous learn how to create a chalk pastel Painting experience from The Nature Hub at Sutton Bank Centre! On Thursday 10th September 2026 10-3PM (Take advantage of a short break in the area and take part in the Landscape Painting in Oils  Experience taking place on Friday 11th September)

Places are limited to 10 people.

Spend a wonderful day 10-3PM relaxing into and whilst learning to create a chalk pastel painting inspired by the visiting birds local to the Nature Hub and North York Moors. We will be based in the Nature hub learning space where Rebecca Jayne Artist and Qualified Teacher  and local professional Artist will share tips and techniques, through demonstration and 1-1 support over the day!

There will be a focus on being mindful, observing and both being out in nature to collect inspiration, looking carefully at the beauty of the colours and stunning views right on the doorstep and short walks around including the finest view in England! Being around and immersed in nature will be valued over the day! As will taking time to look out from the Nature hub through the viewing stations at the bird feeders to spot visiting birds! The sounds of birds and peace and quiet will help you to find focus and clear your mind whilst creating with plenty of on hand support from Becky to help you paint your Landscape who employs a holistic approach. Beginners onwards very welcome!

All materials are provided including an A3 Pastel Paper, Pastels and Aprons, so you can just book and enjoy! If you are a keen pastel artist/hobbyist please do bring your own pastels for more choice of colours.

A wonderful experience with lots of support and encouragement as well as knowledge to help you understand and enjoy the creative process in creating your very own Bird Artwork whilst immersed in nature!

Refreshments are provided throughout the day!

You can bring your own lunch or preorder a lovely lunch a few days prior to the event to eat in the cafe with other Artists in the group which serves a good range of freshly made food.

Please note that there is level access into the hub and cars can be parked outside the event space. Parking will incur an additional cost on the day. You can instead purchase a years parking permit on the day for £35.

Toilets are a 5 minute walk from the Nature hub in the Visitor centre. Be prepared with outdoor shoes and some uneven ground out on the walk or painting outdoors.
