I am Becky Thompson. Based in North Yorkshire. To my joy, I am the mindful creator of original artwork for sale to those who are touched by artwork capturing nature’s beauty, that uplifts the spirit, offering feelings of joy, peace, warmth and happiness.
I am very happy to be able to call myself an artist, a teacher of art via online and in-person classes and workshops.

    I joined Becky's group this term and I have to admit I was rather nervous. I had not completed any Art since I was 15 and that was some considerable time ago!!
    I had worked with children in my teaching role but was worried that I had no techniques which I could employ.
    I did not need to worry. The group is so supportive and Becky is an amazing teacher.
    She provides the right mix of support and challenge with a range of techniques needed to improve.
    I love the sessions and find it so relaxing plus I do feel I am making progress. Thanks for the wonderful learning experience- you are a star!

    I can't think of a more relaxing way to spend a Monday morning.
    I started Becky's art lessons several months ago with no experience ( even at school) and have enjoyed learning how to use Acrylics, Pastels and Water colours. Becky is a fabulous teacher and the group is so kind and encouraging. I recommend the class to anybody wanting to try a new hobby or to those who already have the talent and want to improve.

    Becky's art classes are always friendly, supportive, nurturing, relaxed, enjoyable, well prepared, delicious (cakes) and fun! They really are the highlight of my week. Becky's clear guidance and lovely encouragement have given me the confidence to try lots of new art stuff every week.

    As a mature painting student, I have found Becky’s zoom classes to be fantastic. Becky has an outstanding ability to teach and encourage her students through media that may take them out of their comfort zone. The lessons are held in a very friendly and non-judgemental atmosphere which allows a student to experiment with their own style. I highly recommend Becky’s classes, whether in person, or in an online setting.

    This is a lovely friendly class, very enjoyable love every minute of it.
    Got me doing my art again which I have always loved but just needed that bit of encouragment again.

    Becky’s Tuesday evening art classes are a real joy to be part of, learning and experimenting under Becky’s warm and encouraging guidance in a broad range of artistic styles and media with interesting and varied weekly topics. It is a very friendly and supportive group of local folk, and everyone is free to develop their own personal style at one’s own pace, no pressure. The added support of on-line tutorials is an extra bonus, plus the option to participate via Zoom if unable to make the class in person. The homemade cakes are the icing on it! I would highly recommend these classes, whether a total beginner or a more experienced artist.

    We’re in our second year of art classes taught by Becky and feel so lucky to have found such a friendly and supportive class. We work with various media on a wide range of topics, some more challenging than others. Becky is skilled at breaking things down into simple steps enabling us all to achieve. Our confidence in making art has grown enormously since joining this class and we highly recommend it to everyone. All this and Becky’s delicious cakes too!
